ABOUT ME
Josh Snively is a clarinetist, bass guitarist, instrument repairman, and composer/producer in the Southeastern Maryland and Southern Delaware areas.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Clarinet Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Rosemary Engelstad, and a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance, studying under Dr. Christopher Nichols. During his grad studies, he was the clarinetist selected for UD's Graduate Fellowship Program and formed the Armonia Trio, a Fl/Cl Trio that performs new works by modern composers around the world and brings exposure to new and historic pieces in their repertoire.
Born and raised in Annapolis, MD, he drew inspiration from the diverse musical population of the area by participating in ensembles such as rock bands, jazz big bands, church groups, marching bands including the Baltimore Marching Ravens, and community concert bands. He studied clarinet with Dr. Lynda Dembowski, currently Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Towson University and Principal Clarinetist for the United States Naval Academy Band.
Throughout high school he worked in a local music shop where he learned instrument repair skills from Todd Clontz. He now works for Rice Clarinet Works as a Clarinet Technician and teaches private lessons in the Salisbury area.

From 2018-2022, he held a position with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard Band of the Northeast in Annvile, PA with whom he regularly performed for audiences across the country from band conferences and outdoor festivals to government and military events.

His compositions span from student recitals to international conferences, and includes commissions for web-shows, podcasts, promotional materials, and academic performances. He has written pieces for ensembles including orchestra, clarinet choir, woodwind quintet, jazz band, and solo instruments. His latest project is scoring the sequel movie to The World of Rooks, Black Castles. See the Compositions page for more about compositions and repertoire.
As a producer, Josh has produced and released five albums of instrumental/lofi hip hop tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and various other music streaming platforms. His upcoming album, Inside|Out, is due to release in late Summer 2024.
