Welcome! My name is Josh Snively and I'm a clarinetist, bassist, composer/producer, and instrument repairman. I specialize in woodwind repairs with over 10 years of experience, I'm an active orchestral player on clarinet and bass clarinet; performing across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Here's a little more about my background:

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Clarinet Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Rosemary Engelstad, and a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance, studying under Dr. Christopher Nichols. During my grad studies, I was the clarinetist selected for UD's Graduate Fellowship Program and formed the Armonia Trio, a Fl/Cl Trio that performs new works by modern composers around the world and brings exposure to new and historic pieces in our repertoire.
Born and raised in Annapolis, MD, I drew inspiration from the diverse musical population of the area by participating in ensembles such as rock bands, jazz big bands, church groups, marching bands including the Baltimore Marching Ravens, and community concert bands. I studied clarinet with Dr. Lynda Dembowski, the Principal Clarinetist for the United States Naval Academy Band.
Starting with my first job at Rosso Music Center, I've picked up the instrument repair trade; starting with my own clarinets and working into other woodwinds and customer repairs. My higher ed studies consisted of doing various repairs, small and dire, for friends, fellow students, and faculty. From 2021-2023, I worked for Cole's Music Service in New Jersey as their clarinet technician. In 2023, I began my work at Rice Clarinet Works where I further honed my specialty skills for clarinet and woodwind repair.

From 2018-2022, I held a position with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard Band of the Northeast in Annvile, PA with whom I regularly performed for audiences across the country; from band conferences and outdoor festivals to government and military events.

My compositions span from student recitals to international conferences, and includes commissions for web-shows, podcasts, promotional materials, and academic performances. I've written pieces for ensembles including orchestra, clarinet choir, woodwind quintet, jazz band, and solo instruments. My latest project is scoring the sequel movie to The World of Rooks, Black Castles.
As a producer, I've produced and released five albums of instrumental/lofi hip hop tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and various other music streaming platforms. My upcoming album, Outside|In, is in the works with a release date to be determined .
